The Best Festivals in Queensland

The Australian state of Queensland is located in the northeast corner of the continent. To the south is the state of New South Wales, South Australia to the southwest, Northern Territory to the west and the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean to the east. Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland, while the city of Cairns, which lies in Tropical North Queensland, or, Far North Queensland, is surrounded by the Wet Tropics of Queensland and leads to the Great Barrier Reef—both of those places being World Heritage Sites. In Queensland you can head to the coast and surf, sail, sit in the sand or watch for whales. You might be lucky enough to catch a kangaroo hopping through Cape Hillsborough, or a wombat sauntering through Magnetic Island. The mixing of this unique landscape and culture creates a sweet batch of festivals in Queensland. Queensland festivals, such as the Brisbane Festival, are brimming with beautiful art, music, food, camaraderie and so much more.
