From the Organizer
Enjoy a day at the urban forest of the Santa Ana Zoo and experience one of the world's most exotic flowers- the Orchid. Savor their beauty, grace and fragrances. The very popular Fascination of Orchids Show, now in its 42nd year, will be hosted at the Santa Ana Zoo on September 22, 23 and 24, 2023 from 10am – 4pm. Be dazzled by thousands of Orchids and maybe even take home a plant or two from vendors from California, Asia and South America. Orchid experts will be on-hand presenting seminars throughout the day providing many tips and techniques to help you care for and bloom your orchids and to answer your questions. The event has no extra charge with Zoo admission. Complete Show information is at ocorchid.com Just as the animals living at the Santa Ana Zoo come from varied environments and habitats, so too do the trees and plants that comprise the Zoo’s urban forest. It is made up of more than 100 species of trees, including an Argentinian Ombú tree, African fever tree and massive Moreton Bay Fig, which can reach over 150 feet in diameter. In addition, a very special butterfly exhibit is now open. Signage throughout the Zoo highlights such notable specimens, and a visitor’s botanical guide is available for interested guests.
