About This Festival

A Beautiful Future

A spinoff of Burning Man’s well-known Robot Heart art car and camp, Further Future made waves in the festival world when it launched in 2015, for its remote location at the Moapa River Indian Reservation, roughly an hour north of the Las Vegas strip, for its unconventional lineup that featured left-field artists over the usual stable of EDM superstars – but mostly for its exclusive, invite-only admission policy that requires potential attendees to make the case for entry via Facebook, often resulting in sparsely populated dance floors.

Many festivals allude to aspirations to a utopian future where extraordinary art, music, and thought leadership are held on the highest of pillars, far away from society's limitations and judgments. For Further Future, this ethos of enlightenment is the festival's ruling motto: "We aspire to help seed the discovery of new knowledge and technologies to protect and heal our planet, our societies and one another, and to help us reach the next stage in our collective evolution." Whether or not you're headed to Further Future to change the world, go with an open mind and be ready to dance.

Location, Location, Location

Just two weeks out from the first festival, the organizers ran into planning problems when a snafu with the Bureau of Land Management forced Further Future to get bumped from its original location in an abandoned mine in Lake Mead, NV. The Moapa River Indian Reservation served as a fine alternative, lending a certain sense of desolation to the festival’s apocalyptic chic aesthetic.

Lineups

The centerpiece of the festival is the famed Robot Heart bus sound system, with other stages featuring DJs, speakers and dancing.
