Dedicated to the Zulu community and traditions of New Orleans, Zulu Lundi Gras Festival is held the Monday before Mardi Gras. The festival is an elaborate celebration marking the beginning of Mardi Gras, featuring a large drum band, African-inspired cuisine and an expansive market of Zulu memorabilia and wares and parades of colorful Zulu characters making their way through the crowds. The party culminates with the Zulu King and Queen landing at the Riverside with their entourage.
