18 Dreamy Scenes from Thailand's Jai Thep Festival 2018

Northern Thailand's three-year-old Jai Thep Festival is a three-day music and camping festival in the jungles of Chiang Mai. Three thousand people gathered to watch dozens of DJs and musicians unfurl their talent across four stages. 1200 Micrograms, Alex Cruz, Broken Note, Crussen, Madboy/Mink, Malux-Skope, Skynet, Khun Narin’s Electric Phin Band, Sanim Yok, Srirajah Rockers, Stylish Nonsense, The Die Hards, We Are Nuts, Yamin were among the top names who dazzled the enthusiastic festival-goers. There are also plenty of art installations and magical, immersive environments, workshops and classes to keep partiers occupied day and night.

Ever experienced Laughter Yoga? Curious to learn about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency craze? Interested in refining you hula-hooping skills? Jai Thep has it, and it even boasts a Kids Zone for the smallest of festival-goers.

While similar camping festivals like Wonderfruit Festival are a few years old as well, camping festival culture is still fairly new to Thailand – so Jai Thep took a risk when it not only added a third day to its festival but also a new camping option this year. Thankfully, it paid off.

"[It] was a big accomplishment to see so many Thai people and Farang, the local word for foreigners, mingling together across the immersive festival environment," said Ryan Getz of Jai Thep's marketing team.

Despite the new camping option, the festival still adhered to its eco-conscious ethos, which urges festies to "pack it in, pack it out" and always bring a reusable water bottle.
