Giant music festivals are known to be pretty strict about their set times and curfews, but did that stop Britpop veteran Damon Albarn from whipping out a history-making, five-hour set at Roskilde Festival this past weekend? Hell no.

During a SuperJam-style live collaboration at the Denmark fest, the Blur/Gorillaz frontman and his African Express project were joined onstage by his Blur bandmate Graham Coxon, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner, Laura Mvula, Jeff Wootton, Songhoy Blues and Seye Adelekan. The septet raged through Gorillaz tracks and Randy Newman and The Clash covers – including, fittingly, "Should I Stay Or Should I Go," which Albarn can be seen howling with the jubilant crowd as Roskilde's security comes out to cut the sound at four o'clock (!!!) in the morning.

"F**k what anyone says," he can be heard saying, while triumphantly pointing to the legions of fans. "You want more, we're going to give you more." Amidst boos, cheers and whistles, security puts Albarn's jacket on the singer's shoulders and then picks him up like a child and carries him offstage. Though the security guards do have smirks on their faces (they totally know the incident is likely being filmed and beamed all over the internet), it still seems no one can believe what's unfolding before their very eyes.

In an age where festival tickets continue to balloon in price, we're actually stoked a legend like Albarn refused to phone in his Roskilde performance and give attendees the most bang for their buck, in the form of a five-hour performance. Bravo and thank you for taking a stand, Mr. Albarn.
