Imagine a music festival filled with chilled-out grooves, craft beer, and lush campgrounds rife with zen nature vibes, all set in a historic Gold Rush-era California town. That's Dry Diggings Festival, and it's about to embark on its fourth year of rocking music and libation lovers with a stellar lineup set for its weekend bash August 31-September 2 in Placerville, California.
Jeff Monser, the founder of California Roots Music & Art Festival, is no stranger to curating excellent vibes. His Monterey, California, festival has made a name for itself as the musical mecca for roots and reggae fanatics from all over the world. That stylistic influence reaches Dry Diggings, as well, where roots and reggae stars also gather to celebrate in a more intimate atmosphere. This year, Rebelution, Stephen Marley, Protoje, The Original Wailers, SOJA, J Boog, and many other genre luminaries are sure to keep you movin' and groovin' all weekend long.
And you can't dance and groove forever without the proper fuel. One of Dry Diggings' signature offerings is its local craft beer selection, and this year it will feature a NorCal favorite called Altamont Beer Works, which will host The Brewery Knowledge Zone, where you can find education on the brewery process from the professionals themselves! On Saturday and Sunday mornings you'll be able to enjoy Mimosa Mornings from 9-11 am to start the day with a little fizz. When you're not moving your feet to the sweet sounds on stage, you can check out the handpicked vendors, who'll offer delicious cuisine to suit any taste as well as art, clothing and crafts; the Dry Diggings Gold Pan Jam, a skate competition thrown by Dry Diggings and The Hangtown Skate Shop; and cool off during the day at the water park.
Although the Gold Rush is long over, that doesn't mean Gold Country has lost any of its luster. Dry Diggings Festival, with its amazing roots and reggae music and fun activities for all ages, is making sure of that.
