There's nothing in Ireland that matches the size, scale and diversity of Electric Picnic. According to the Irish Times, "It’s as much a part of the Irish social calendar as the Rose of Tralee and the ploughing."
What secures its legacy as a marquee event for the entire country is the music and arts festival's attractions that suit anyone's fancy, from mainstream rock n' roll like LCD Soundsystem, Lana Del Rey, and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, to heavyweight electronic acts like the Chemical Brothers, to newer offerings like the Hazel Wood (an interactive theater space), carnival rides, the chill Zen Gardens and Pamper Street (a place for punters to freshen up).
Because the burgeoning event sprawls 600 acres and several interactive areas and stages, there is plenty of opportunity for ecstatic punters to make memories from random adventures, chance encounters, dance floor chemistry, and the glorious sort of serendipity only found in a festival setting. Below are images that capture the kind of magic an amazing fest like Electric Picnic provides in leaps and bounds.
