What happens when NYC and LA’s underground party people unite for Robot Heart’s futuristic themed festival, Further Future ? The most brilliant display of underground fashion, of course. Seeing an entire group of gorgeous, perfectly dressed friends was the norm – and we've got the stylish photos to prove it.

You know fashion is important to a festival when they are handing out their own branded swag. If you were lucky and in the right place at the right time, you could snag Further Future sunglasses with mirrored lenses or a Robot Heart emblazoned jersey cape with hood.

Festival goers chose the most fashionable ways to block out the sun’s brutal rays; donning hats, hoods, spacey sunglasses and sequined parasols. Some even doubled up on duo glasses or goggles.

Intergalactic Stardust Love hoods and bedazzled military and top hats designed by Fancy Vandals and More is More NYC added sparkle and shine to festival-goers ensembles.
A lot of people were sporting their own designs or supporting a friend’s brand. While many people followed the ‘futuristic’ theme, there were just as many people dressed in brightly colored ensembles. Either way, sequins, metallic, glitter and decadent glamour were all mainstays at the festival.

One of the stand-outs was Shannon Shiang who I first met atop the legendary Robot Heart art car. She had herself and her whole crew decked out in gorgeous sequined ensembles. Captured below by Gilles Bonugli Kali, she is soon to launch her clothing line, Kitana Designs. You can find her jewelry and keep up with her on her site.

I caught another gorgeous goddess, Yoshan Churnac, shimmering and shaking next to Cozo Design’s glorious sacred geometry sculptures. She creates incredible costumes including the Goddess Robe pictured below under the name Fringe & Epaulette. These stunning robes along with other items will be available via her Etsy starting in June. She also takes custom orders.

From temporary metallic tattoos to face paint to metal headpieces and wigs, no type of adornment was over-looked on male or female festival-goers.

The best thing about fashion at Further Future was the fact that the men were as dressed up as the women – some even more so! The commitment to fashion was palpable.

Overall, the message was clear. Custom one-of-a-kind pieces are the way to go, and investing in a fabulous festival piece is well worth the cost. Supporting incredible up-and-coming designers means you'll have a look no one else does.
