"We may all be living separate lives but we are all connected in every way," muses one participant in the video above from Ignite Channel. What starts as a fake wildlife documentary set in the high desert of South Africa quickly turns into an examination of the magical gathering that is Afrikaburn .

Taking place April 27-May 3 at the otherworldly Tankwa Karoo National Park, where the skies are clear and the nearest city (Cape Town) is over 250 miles away, Afrikaburn is like Burning Man 15 years ago. Everyone is a participant. Idealism abounds. The Afrikaburn Passport everyone receives urges a mandate declaring “Dance, groove, scream, shout, cartwheel, cavort naked and howl at the moon freely and without hindrance.”

This video gets us all kinds of excited for this intimate desert freedom fest by capturing that liberated vibe and feeling of unity that a creative, radically inclusive environment provokes. One woman in the video (at around 3:11 in) sums it up best when she says: "The event isn't an end in itself, it's a tool. The world rubs up against you and you start to learn skills that wake up all sorts of things in us that become dormant...That's why coming to the desert is important."
