Even though it seems like everyone and their brother is at SXSW right now, the truth is there are plenty of us chained to our desks at work, while the rest of you are off in Austin, networking...and drinking beer, listening to great live music and partying. Nope. We're not bitter at all.

Would-be South-by attendee Janice Chan came up with a clever solution to combat her FOMO: she hired an actor, turned him into her "Advatar" (via an iPad) and attended SXSW virtually, all in an effort to drum up interest in her company, The  Plan A  Project. Interest: drummed.

Talk about innovation!
