Not every stoner can call himself both a successful DJ/producer and a badass entrepreneur with his or her own weed strain – but GRiZ can. This past weekend, the High Times Magazine 2015 Cannabis Cup took place, wherein his "GRiZ Kush" strain won second place in the Cup's "People's Choice Flowers" category in Denver on Sunday (April 19) – he also performed at the festival.

GRiZ created the strain in partnership with Colorado dispensary chain Native Roots, which is a sativa dominant hybrid cross between parent plants Tangerine Haze and Pakistan Chitral Kush.

The DJ/producer told Billboard.com: "[Native Roots owner] Rhett delivered three different types of new marijuana to my place in Boulder...I smoked each variation, made notes, and picked my favorite. What do you do after you smoke a joint? Smoke another one… and another... and another."

In signature GRiZ speak, his future plans for this newfound weed entrepreneurship includes "getting some to Barack Obama."

If anyone manages to get their hands on this new hot-ticket strain, do let us know what you think of it!
