The Do Lab's excellent central California festival Lightning In a Bottle just announced it will open its gates an extra day so all us festies can get there early and do our festie things without missing any musical acts.

That's right: In 2016, LIB will begin on a Wednesday so attendees can get started on their festival landgrabs, meet neighbors, and get to know the layout of the festival, which is pretty crucial knowledge to have when planning around all the good stuff the fest has on offer. Festies who arrive early will also get to experience The Temple of Consciousness, Village and Learning Kitchen uninterrupted, where speakers, workshops, yoga and classes with special celebrations in the evenings will be the focus. The Grand Artique will also be in full effect on Wednesday with their signature brand of frontier trading and shenanigans. Come Thursday, music will be added via the Favela and Pagoda Bar, and by the time Friday's full-force festival activities open, attendees will be more connected and ready to spend the weekend in perfect synergy.

"We're constantly hearing people say they wish LIB was longer so we're super excited to actually start making that reality," says Dede Flemming, co-founder of Lightning In a Bottle. "So much of the festival is about creating community and having this extra day with a more intimate setting and more personalized content will really allow people to dive deeper into the experience and make more personal connections."

If you want to take part in the newly-extended LIB 2016 experience, get an Early Arrival Pass (on sale January 4th at 10 am) added to you 4 Day Weekend Pass, which will grant entry at noon on Wednesday, May 25th. This pass will be available during the 24 hour flash ticket sale, and is expected to go quickly. With the Early Arrival pass also comes first dibs on campsites in the brand new centralized High Grounds Camp, located directly across the road from the main festival grounds, featuring an incredible view of the festival and providing the shortest campground walk to many primary festival attractions.

LIB will return to Lake San Antonio Recreation Area Wednesday, May 25, through Monday, May 30. Musical announcements have yet to be announced, but we have no doubt performances and artists will be on point as they have been year after year. Get excited with the festival's newly released teaser entitled "Ecstatic Motion."
