Ryan Adams stopped by in San Francisco this weekend to headline the Banjo stage at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.

Adams, a legend in rock and folk circles, has been churning out critically acclaimed records since the early 90s and recently began a North American tour behind the release of his new self-titled album, "Ryan Adams."

The song was an off-the-cuff creation to "immortalize" a man in the back who had been holding up a fistful of balloons for the duration of the show. Adams' ardent fan base was amused, especially as he realized the balloons numbered four, not three. He rolled with it and admitted, "I can't count... I just play the guitar."
