One of the world's most unique festival experiences is coming to save North America during the country's winter doldrums, aka the festival off-season.

Snowbombing , a multi-award winning mountaintop party occurring annually in the Austrian Alps, will debut at the Sun Peaks Resort in British Columbia in 2017, just in time to give festies suffering from festival season withdrawal a little pick-me-up. The 17-year-old festival is known for infusing its a snow sports vacation vibe with global headliners and DJs, and it will do the same for its new North American audience. The only question is, can we North Americans party as hard as Snowbombing's European devotees?

Over four days, from April 6-10, 2017, at 7,000 feet above sea level, music will be booming across snow-covered peaks and multiple stages, from sky-high mountain shacks, mystical forests stages, trail-side pool parties, road-block street carnivals, cozy alpine lodges and medieval barns. To top it off, revelers will be able take part in exhilarating activities such world-class ski and snowboard competitions, DJ battles and much, much more. Past headliners at Snowbombing Austria include Adam Beyer, Aim, Dave Robertson, Claude von Stroke, Clive Henry, Disclosure, Doo Bomp, First Rate, Heartbreak, Para One, The Prodigy, and Skrillex.

“20 years ago when we started Snowbombing it was a very distant dream to one day do it in North America. Now, with the help of an iconic brand like Coors Light, that dream is to become a reality and we are so proud and excited to be able to launch Coors Light Snowbombing, Canada in the superbly stunning Sun Peaks Resort,” says Gareth Cooper, CEO of Snowbombing's promoter Broadwick Live. “Not only is this one of the best ski locations in Canada, but strangely it looks just like our Austrian home, Mayrhofen!"

Headliners and the rest of Snowbombing Canada's lineup will be announced in the fall of 2016. Full event and package details will be announced mid-August with package pricing including accommodation and festival tickets. Sun Peaks Resort is luckily just a five-hour drive from Seattle, and has two convenient gateway airports, with daily flights including Seattle and Vancouver.
