South Africa’s Splashy Fen just wrapped it biggest and best year ever this past weekend on the gorgeous and secluded farm of Splashy Fen Farm just outside of Underberg. It was a revival of sorts in 2016, as the country’s oldest music festival aimed to offer “new ideas, new acts,” and more bang for their festival-goers’ bucks with help from a new event production company.

Just over 5,500 music lovers gathered over the four-day weekend to enjoy a bigger, better, more Splashy-esque festival experience than ever before. Amidst crisp mountain air and below clear blue skies, festival goers were treated to river frolicking, festival attractions for the whole family, a broad selection of craft and food stalls, and a seriously great lineup of music by venerable South African artists, spanning all genres.

"The whole place just smelled wholesome again. Everything, including the campsites, looked so neat and clean. There cannot possibly be a more beautiful festival site anywhere in this country. Possibly even the world,” remarked festival-goer Don Clarke. After seeing these gorgeous festival images, we think you’ll agree.
