While SXSW may now be known more for its influence in the tech industry, it's still deeply invested in promoting good music. More than half of the eleven-day-long festival is devoted to music, though SXSW is no longer merely a showcase for new bands. Justin Timberlake and Usher performed in 2013, and this year, iTunes Festival had its stateside debut, while Lady Gaga's scene-stealing performance at Stubb's was one of the most pivotal moments of the festival. Although high-profile artists tend to draw the largest crowds, there's still room for up-and-comers to make an impression. In past years, artists like James Blunt and John Mayer were "discovered" by record label reps at SXSW.

Fest300 was on the ground at SXSW and captured its musical side. Who knows, maybe the next big thing is in here?
