A record crowd of ecstatic festival-goers hungry to party on the "Island of Freedom" united from August 10-17 at Sziget. Over 400,000 people from more than 95 countries formed this year's band of "Szitizens" to see UK pop legend Robbie Williams perform, alongside musicians from over 50 countries, including Florence + The Machine, Avicii, Kings of Leon, alt-J, Major Lazer, Ellie Goulding, Limp Bizkit, Knife Party, W&W, Infected Mushroom, Tyler The Creator, and much more. The famed, outlaw Russian punk group Pussy Riot were also onhand to discuss their work and perform. Opera, folk music, world music, or classical tunes are all strongly represented at the festival in order to round out Sziget's global appeal.
Sziget is much more than just music, music, music. Organizers make sure their Szitizens have plenty of room to expand their horizons by exploring places like the Sziget Beach, the Campfire, the Luminarium, the Artzone, the Designzone, the I Ching Labirynth, the Museum Quarter, and even the Sportzone.
