About Portland, OR

While the government doesn’t collect data to determine which city has the most hipsters per capita, you can bet Portland, Oregon, consistently ranks in the top 10. This has nothing to do with Portlandia and its exaggerated take on Portland’s amusing eccentricity; it’s just that Portland does almost everything right, and who doesn’t want to be cool? Even though the depressing, cloudy weather can be a drag, the constant drizzle is no match for all the excitement the Rose City offers. PDX boasts more breweries within city limits than any other city in the world. If that doesn’t appeal, the legions of tasty food carts and craft coffee shops will surely rev your taste buds. Its proximity to the stunning Oregon coastline, the Columbia River Gorge, and Mount Rainier also makes Portland an outdoor recreational hot spot. Every year, dozens of Portland festivals pop up on the Oregon itinerary of exciting things to do. From the renowned Oregon Brewers Festival to the widely celebrated Northwest String Summit, festivals in Portland offer a unique glimpse into the glorious Pacific Northwest.
