Getting There
Bayou City Art Festivals takes place twice a year (at Memorial Park in Spring and downtown in Fall). Memorial Park is about five miles west of downtown, and is easily accessible via Memorial Drive. On-site public parking is not provided at the festival, but you can hop on a shuttle from Northwest Mall to the festival. A round trip shuttle ride is $4 per adult and children under 12 ride free.
Lodging
Whether you’re going in the Fall or Spring, your best bet is to stay as close to downtown Houston as possible. There are loads of hotels, hostels and Airbnbs for all budgets.
Price of Admission
GA tickets are $15 per adult, $5 per child (12 and under) and free for children 5 and under. You can also buy family passes and two-day passes if you prefer. Regardless, that’s a low price for all that art, music, and family fun.
Bring Some Spending Money
You’ll want to have your credit card, debit card and some cash on hand. You never know when you’ll have a craving for a certain food, only to learn a vendor only accepts cash.
Charity
Over the past 47 years, the Art Colony Association has raised $3.6 million dollars in support of local non-profits. For each festival, they select up to 10 non-profit organizations to receive a portion of the proceeds of the festival.
