In a festival landscape that's opening up with new events, AFROPUNK has long secured its berth as one of New York's top festivals. This August, the Brooklyn fest will host Macy GrayGary Clark Jr., hip-hop artist Kaytranada (heading up the Kaytranada and Friends Stage), SZA, Dizzee Rascal, Willow Smith, and dozens more. For an added dash of whimsy to these bleak times we're in, there's a "Fancy Dress Ball" in the works.

Touting a refreshingly progressive ethos, AFROPUNK stands firm with their message of "No Sexism. No Racism. No Ableism. No Ageism. No Homophobia. No Fatphobia. No Transphobia" amongst attendees or from the festival itself. Earlier this year, Afropunk added Johannesburg to its expanding list of festival cities (joining the original Brooklyn, Paris, London and Atlanta).

AFROPUNK is from August 26 - 27, 2017 in Brooklyn, New York's Commodore Barry Park. Tickets to all events are available here.
