The Philly Festival Scene

The City of Brotherly Love is aptly nicknamed for finding festival fun. The fifth-largest city in the US, Philadelphia boasts the largest landscaped urban park in the world. Fairmount Park plays hosts to a multitude of festivals throughout the year, from Jay Z’s Made in America to the Philadelphia Jerk Fest (which is actually quite friendly) and the International Dragon Boat Festival.

Top Festivals in Philadelphia

Made in America
If you're big Jay-Z fan, then you're in luck, because Made in America is a hype music festival created and curated by Hova himself. Featuring two days' worth of music from the best in rock, pop, hip-hop, indie and electronic music across multiple stages. When you're not crowding the stage, there's finger-licking grub from local food trucks and tons of vendors to explore.

Philadelphia Folk Festival
Presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society, this family-friendly event is dedicated to the art of storytelling through dance, music and the visual arts. The festival is jam-packed with smooth folk jams, handmade arts and crafts, aerialists, jugglers and overnight camping.

Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival
The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival casts a warm glow that can pierce through the darkness like none other. Held in historic Franklin Square, the brightly lit festival is filled to the brim with colorful lantern sculptures, scaly dragons, Chinese acrobatics, and a thirst-quenching beer garden.
